Education: Econometrics at Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Jan started his career in 1991 as Data Scientist at ABN AMRO Bank. After 2 years became commercial relationship banker and manager of various teams.

In 2000 he joined one of his larger customers Nutreco, active in animal nutrition and aquaculture, to become Group Treasurer. Next to his responsibility for financing and financial risk management, he was also involved in ample M&A transactions, investor relations, pensions, and CSR projects.

In 2015, Nutreco was de-listed, and Jan joined the new owner SHV as Director Controlling. SHV is a family-owned industrial conglomerate active in energy, animal nutrition, private equity, industrial supplies, heavy lifting and transport, and cash & carry.

In 2020, Jan moved to Aqua-Spark, as investor Board Member with a strong dedication to especially the African portfolio companies. In 2024, Jan started as self-employed consultant and Non-Executive Director.
